April 17, 2001:Returned from a short expedition to California, including a visit to The Huntington Botanical Gardens in San Marino (near Los Angeles). While there, shot 80 pictures of early roses, and a whole bunch of pictures of cactus.
April 8, 2001:Photos received from Just Rose Pictures, Jim & Kathy Moss, Janet Sclar, Katie Sullivan, and rose breeder George Mander - Thank you! Currently 6,850 roses, 1,825 photos and 1250 Gardeners' Experiences online.

August 15, 2000:Dozens of photos received from Baldo Villegas, publisher of the excellent Bugs and Roses page (thank you for both photos and pest information, Baldo!). We'll be getting the photos online over the next month or so. Currently 1,675 photos online.

July 22, 2000:Added a section for Books - Starting with 53 books, mostly the ones in our small library. Email us with reviews of rose books you have read. Rose Sources has been expanded to list 270 suppliers - is your favorite nursery or mail order rose supplier on the list? If not, email us their name address and phone numbers.
July 16, 2000:Added a section for Public Gardens - over 180 Rose gardens you can visit in the USA and Canada. Working on adding more gardens worldwide.
July 15, 2000: Now 6,400 roses online and 660 comments. Added display for a 5th photo on the rose detail pages and additional Browse options.
July 8, 2000: Now 6,350 roses and 1,525 photos online. Added a Browse selection for "Coffee" roses - an unofficial category for the unusual russets, purple-browns and pink-greens.
June 30, 2000: Added more photos from Jan Hodges, Paul Harnett, David & Crenagh Elliott and the Peninsular Rose Show. Now 6,300 roses and 1,500 photos online.
June 25, 2000: Added information and links to the Rose Info section. Rose detail pages now display up to 4 photos. Now over 1,400 photos online.
June 17, 2000: Shot 200 photos at the Peninsular Rose Club annual Rose Show - will be working to get these online over the next week. Now over 580 comments in Gardeners' Experiences and 1,275 photos. More photos received from Toni Cartisano and Paul Harnett, thank you!.
June 12, 2000: Now over 6,250 roses and 1,200 photos online, with the list of florist's roses expanded. Added more options to Browse, including "What's in a Name". More wonderful photos received from The Rhode Island Rose Society, Lee Sherman and Just Rose Pictures .

September 6, 1999: EveryRose.com is introduced at the CanWest Horticultural Show in Vancouver BC with 4,000 roses online. June 1999: Marathon photo shoot at the Peninsular Rose Club Annual Rose Show. May 1999: Jeanne is hired to continue research and typing roses into the database. March 1998: Peninsular Rose Club web site goes online, with rose descriptions from the fledgling EveryRose database. July 1997 - April 1999: Many late nights with rose books and catalogs, cross-referencing rose names, introduction dates, characteristics. 2,400 roses catalogued. June 1997: More roses added for the program and labels for the Peninsular Rose Club's Annual Rose Show. April 1997: Work starts on a database for cataloging the roses in Ielean's garden. |
